Yesterday, from verse 24, we saw that Jesus is always there; He is always our High Priest. He is (from Proverbs 18:24) always the friend that sticks closer than a brother.
Today’s verse shows us the result of Him always being our High Priest.
It says: “Consequently” (or “therefore”), “He is able to save to the uttermost” (that is, “completely” or “at all times”) “those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.”
Because He always lives, and because He is always interceding for His people, there is never a time when you are not protected and covered by Him. Some people believe in setting up 24 hour prayer when they are in trouble and they ask their friends to pray for them at a set time so that they are covered by prayer.
Brothers and sisters, you are already covered by the 24/7 prayers of God the Son. He is always living to make intercession for you.
So, “He is able to save completely.” Whatever happens, even if we sin seriously, we mess up big time, we go through massive enemy attacks, even if we lose our lives, He is able to save completely. Nothing can take you outside of the prayers of Jesus Christ. You are secure and He will save you finally and completely on that final day.
If you are Christian, you are totally saved, forever. Praise His name.
