Daily Devotional for 14 April 2020 – Proverbs 18:10

Proverbs 18:10

People who get the coronavirus badly are attacked in every part of their bodies and minds: breathing, pain and heaviness in the chest, headaches, pain in the eyes, pain and numbness in the limbs, pain the joints, extreme exhaustion, confusion, sometimes hallucinations, depression, and many others.

Christians also experience spiritual attack. So, we need to know where our strength lies. We need to know who is the One who heals us.

Proverbs 18:10 says: “The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous man/woman runs into it and is safe.”

The name of the Lord tells us who God is. His name is so great, He has many names to describe who He is. He is the Lord our Provider. He is the Lord our Healer. He is the Lord our Banner (He helps us in the battle). He is the Lord our Shepherd. He is the Lord our Peace. He is the Lord our Righteousness. He is the Lord Almighty, the Lord of heaven’s armies.

He is also our Father. He is our Rock, our Redeemer, our Strength, our Strong Tower, our Defender, our Shield, our Saviour. There are so many names, because He is so great.

Spend some time today praying and praising the Lord for His great name. Maybe also, you could spend a few minutes thinking about some of His names, and what they mean. That will build your faith in the battle you are facing today.

Finally, here is a song to help you to worship the Lord –
O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer
