“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
The word became flesh, the word has dwelt (tabernacled) among us, and the disciples saw His glory. But who is He? What is so special about Him?
Lots of people today say something like “I have my way, you have yours.” But the word of God doesn’t give us the option of deciding which way we prefer. There is only one way because there is only one Son of God who came from the Father full of grace and truth.
There is no other way to be saved. Jesus is not one among many, He is not even the best way among many, He is the only way among many. Jesus is more than all preachers, prophets and leaders. He is more than all religious leaders and counsellors. He is the only Son from the Father.“
He is God the Son and He is from the Father. He fully reveals the Father to us (John 1:18). He is “full” of grace and truth. Since He is God in the flesh, He is full. He has plenty of grace for you and for me. He is not like a well that runs dry, He is forever full to pour out His grace into our lives each day.
There is never a day when He will run out of grace for you. There is never a day that you cannot go to the Father because He has come from the Father to bring you to the Father. Yes, we praise God for all the blessings He gives us, including pastors and teachers. But the One we need more than anything is Jesus. Let’s not rely on our own strength, or on the wisdom of people, but let’s come to Jesus, who has come to you from the Father, full of grace and truth.
