This year, we have seen more change and uncertainty than any other year. Covid-19 has changed everything, health, work, schools, shopping, home life, hobbies, friendships, travel, and even the life of the church. Church services stopped, churches services are now allowed again, but they have changed.
Some things seem to go on and hardly change. Today’s passage speaks about the earth and the heavens. In our eyes, these are things that seem to remain almost the same – they were there when we were born and they are still there.
But, says the psalmist, even these change, they wear out (Psalm 102:26). God is so awesome that the creation is pictured like clothes that God can just take off like we would with our clothes at the end of the day.
Imagine how great He is if the whole vast universe is like that compared to Him!
He is the One that never changes (v27). He is as solid as a rock.
Because He remains the same, even though everything else changes, we “shall dwell secure.” (v28)
Stand firm today in Him today, our awesome, almighty, unchanging God.
