Daily Devotional for 15 June 2020 – 2 Corinthians 1v20

2 Corinthians 1:20

We have seen that God says, “I the Lord do not change” (Malachi 3:6)  We have seen that He is always, “I AM THAT I AM” (Exodus 3:14).  We have seen that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

Today’s verse tells us, “All the promises of God find their ‘yes’ in Him” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

All God’s promises are yes in Christ.  God doesn’t change and His promises cannot fail.  They are “yes” because of Jesus.  Right back in Genesis 3, God promised someone who would crush the serpent’s head.  All those thousands of years passed, while humanity waited and waited.  More promises came, and still they waited.

But the Saviour did come.  Jesus came and died in our place and rose from the dead and defeated death and defeated the serpent, the devil.

Every promise about the coming of Jesus was fulfilled – they were all “yes” in Him.  Because that is true, we can be 100% certain that every other promise that God has made will be fulfilled also.  All of God’s promises are “yes” in Christ.

All the promises: the promises to hear your prayers, the promises to provide for every need, the promises to guide you through life, the promises to protect you so that you do not lose salvation, the promise to give you wisdom when you ask for it, the promises to be with you, the promise for all-sufficient grace for every situation, the promise to provide a way of escape in temptation, the promise of peace in our hearts and minds, the promise of an eternal inheritance.

So today, and every day, you can draw near to the unchanging God and stand on the unchanging promises that are “yes” because the unchanging Saviour died and rose for you and lives forever to intercede for you and to take you to glory!

Be very blessed today!
